"Discover, Excel, Ignite: SIF's Shastra Pratibha Contest 2023!"



Science and technology have always been at the forefront of human progress, shaping societies and pushing the boundaries of what we thought possible. India, with its rich cultural history, has made significant contributions to the world of science and technology. In an effort to familiarize students with these contributions, the Science India Forum (SIF) presents the Shastra Pratibha Contest 2023.


Objectives:

The Shastra Pratibha Contest aims to achieve several objectives:

  1. Showcasing India's Scientific Heritage: The contest seeks to familiarize students with India's rich contributions to the world of science and technology, spanning both traditional and modern aspects.

  2. Promoting Science Education: Targeting students in grades V to XII across various educational curriculums, the contest aims to popularize science and foster a love for the subject.

  3. Identifying and Nurturing Talent: Through a well-crafted contest, bright students are identified and nurtured to pursue careers in pure sciences.

  4. Hands-on Experience: The contest includes field trips to renowned Research and Development institutions in India. This provides a unique opportunity for Shastra Pratibhas to interact in person with renowned scientists, technocrats, and academicians.

Contest Categories:

The contest is divided into three categories based on the students' grades:

  • Sub-Junior: Grade V to VII

  • Junior: Grade VIII to X

  • Senior: Grade XI-XII

Levels of Competition:

Participants progress through three levels of competition:

  1. Elementary: Participants receive Appreciation certificates.

  2. Intermediate: Participants receive Excellence certificates.

  3. Advance: Participants receive Meritorious certificates, except for the top two students of each grade who are declared as Shastra Pratibhas.

Eligibility:

Students in grades V to XII studying in UAE following CBSE/ICSE/any Indian state curriculum with a valid Emirates Identity number are eligible to participate.


Contest Syllabus:

The syllabus is divided into two parts:

  1. Curriculum followed in the school at the respective grade.

  2. Study material prescribed by SIF, including the life story of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray and topics related to the Indian Freedom Struggle & Science.

Contest Structure:

  • Elementary & Intermediate Levels: These levels are conducted through a home-based MCQ-type online examination via Safe Exam Browser.

  • Advance Level: This is an offline viva voce type contest.

Contest Fee:

  • Intermediate Level: Selected students must pay a one-time non-refundable fee of 25 AED.

  • Elementary Level: The first level is free for all students.

To register, visit https://www.sifuae.com/spc, fill out the form following the instructions, and upon successful registration, a confirmation email with a username and password for login to the dashboard will be received.


Accolades and Recognition:

  • Sixteen Shastra Pratibhas will be felicitated with a medal, memento, and certificate.

  • Meritorious students will receive certificates and mementos.

  • Students qualified to the Intermediate 2nd level will receive Excellence e-certificates.

  • Students appearing for the Elementary 1st level will receive Appreciation e-certificates.
