Taught by researchers and PhD students at UC Berkeley, BLAST AI is a hands-on summer program designed for talented high school students interested in artificial intelligence. BLAST AI offers two distinct programs this summer:
1. Launchpad Program
2-week project-based camp
Complete a unique AI passion project while learning the fundamentals.
Build your own chatbot, racing game AI, protein folding simulator, or stock market forecaster.
Learn the fundamentals of classical ML and deep learning, mastering topics from regression to transformers to reinforcement learning.

2. Research Program
June 16, 2024 - August 11, 2024
Conduct original AI research in a team of like-minded individuals with an experienced research mentor and industry-level compute resources.
Topics include: LLM chain-of-thought reasoning, reinforcement learning, foundation-model agents, biomedical ML, diffusion, SSMs, and more!
During the first two weeks, complete a research-focused AI Bootcamp.
You will complete a 6-page scientific paper, present at the end-of-program symposium, and may submit your work to a Ph.D.-level conference.
